In his Polarizers series, Mário digitally explores the relationship between the use of coloured optical filters in film photography, and the viewer in the creation of a single colour.
Mário's Polarizers series strives to incorporate both the physical absorbtion and the transmission of particular range of wavelengths of light - colours - by coloured optical filters in film photography.
Reflecting on the use of coloured optical filters in film photography, his painterly trichromatic creative process visually communicates this relationship with a uniquely charged singularity of colour.
His Polarizers series is directly influenced by his Receptors, Rainbow and Polarization series, in which he paints each series through his coloured optical filters photographic Polarizers lens.
In each Polarizers painting, the mesh of hatched, and cross-hatched RGB pixel strokes is digitally mixed with a mesh of hatched, and cross-hatched CMY(K) pixel strokes, to jointly represent the physical coloured optical filters used in film photography, producing a Polarized image.
With the Polarizers series, Mário shifts each Receptors, Rainbow, Polarization superposition through his trichromatic pixel lens, painting to the viewer the singularity of colour.
Through his multi-series Polarizers lens, Mário takes the viewer into a discovery journey of the physical coloured optical filters used in film photography, placing the viewer in the center of the narrative of colour, diffusely connecting with the painterly continuum of the viewer, and pushing their conscious perception towards the immateriality of the singularity of colours.
