Time Exposure Statement

In his Time Exposure series, Mário digitally explores the relationship between the long exposure photosensitive exposure of photographic film to light, and the viewer's conscious perception of the passage of time - light - in the creation of complementary colours.

Mário's Time Exposure series strives to incorporate the long duration of shutter speed during the photosensitive exposure process of photographic film to light.

Reflecting on long exposure of photographic film, his creative process visually communicates this relationship with moving trichromatic paths of light on a motionless captured image and its moving patterns of complementary colours.

In each Time Exposure painting, the mesh of hatched, and cross-hatched RGB pixel strokes is digitally combined to compose the passage of time - light - engraved during the photosensitive exposure process of photographic film to light, seamlessly stroking the transition from primary to complementary colours.

With the Time Exposure series, Mário exposes both Receptors and Polarization series to the refraction of light - Rainbow series -, extending the period of time through his trichromatic pixelated long exposure lens to consciously compose to the viewer an imaginarily charged duplicity of Waves, and Particles , exposing the duality of light through two superimpositions of the same moving image.

Through his multi-series Time Exposure lens, Mário takes the viewer into a discovery journey of the physical long exposure photosensitive exposure process of photographic film to light, consciously painting the wave-particle duality through a moving duplicity of Waves, and Particles, ultimately placing the viewer in the center of the imagery narrative on the conscious perception of the passage of time - light - in the materialization of complementary colours.
