What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text that is stored in your browser when you visit a web page. They are tools that have a key role in the rendering of digital services. Among others, they allow a web page to store and recuperate information on the browsing habits of a user or their equipment, and depending on the information obtained, they may be used to recognize the user and improve the service offered. Without cookies, many pages would not work correctly or the services offered would be reduced.
In compliance with Spanish Act 34/2002, on information Society Services and E-commerce, Mário Sousa informs its users about the use of its own cookies and those of third parties and those persistent (when they have a long duration or timeless) and temporary (when they have a short duration) in order to improve the service rendered.
Type of cookies
Depending on the entity managing the domain from which the cookies are sent and processing the data obtained, two types may be distinguished:
Own cookies: these are sent to the device of the user from a unit or domain managed by the proprietor of the web, from where the service requested by the user is rendered.
Third-party cookies: these are sent to the device of the user from a unit or domain that is not managed by the proprietor of the web but rather by another entity that processes the data obtained via the cookies.
Depending on the storage period:
Session cookies: a session cookie, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.
Persistent cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date.
Depending on its purpose:
Technical cookies: are those strictly necessary for the proper operation of the website and for the use of the different options we offer, such as maintenance of user’s session, manage the response time, performance of the website, security, share contents in social networks, etc.
Personalization cookies: are those that allows the user to personalize certain characteristics of the website. For instance, define the language, regional configuration or the kind of web browser.
Analysis cookies: these cookies allow to perform tracking and analysis of users’ behavior in the website and elaborate profiles based on its navigation data. This helps to know the preferences of the website users’. For example, with these cookies it can be determined the region of the user or what is the product with better user acceptance.
Advertising cookies: are those cookies to allow us to manage advertising spaces on the web.
Behavioral advertising cookies: these cookies store the users’ information about their behavior to show personalized advertising.
