In his Rainbow series, Mário digitally explores the relationship between white light, and the viewer in the creation of complementary colours.
Mário's Rainbow series strives to reflect on the visible physical properties of white light responsible for the communication of colour to the viewer's retina.
Reflecting on these properties, he uniquely paints a trichromatic, yet painterly view on the relationship between the physical wave lengths that compose white light, and the retina of the viewer in the creation of complementary colours.
Mário's creative process visually communicates this relationship with evolving patterns of colours.
His Rainbow series is directly influenced by the physical wave lengths that compose white light, and their role in communicating multi-colour information to the retina of the viewer.
As in his Receptors series, he continues to represent each receptor in the retina of the viewer: Red, Green and Blue receptors, with Red, Green and Blue visual tones.
By placing the viewer as the center of the narrative for the composition of colours, he composes an individual multi-colour and intensely connection between primary and complementary colours.
In his Rainbow series, Mário's interlaced mesh of hatched, and cross-hatched primary colour pixels is more broad stroked.
In Rainbow, a single primary colour tone can span across larger amount of pixels, as opposed to his Receptors series digital paintings, which require a meticulously smaller amount of primary colour tones, directly painted through individual pixel strokes.
As in his Receptors series, Mário's trichromatic paintings in Red, Green and Blue visual tones continue to be distinctly made.
For each painting, he arranges the interlaced mesh of hatched, and cross-hatched primary colour pixels differently, and thus makes each trichromatic composition trully unique.
His painterly and flamboyant colours, continues to be charged with reflection on the individual connection with colour, in which he invites us to discover a multi-colour journey of the intimate and personal dialogue between what is real and unreal.
